Last week, we were at Who Do You Think You Are? LIVE - team members at Genes have written about their experiences of the event.

Tracing a family’s history; carrying out genealogical research; investigating your family tree: whatever you call it, the moment you decide to set out on the trail, you’re almost certain to find yourself hooked.  Where else will you find a hobby that allows you to become a detective, searching for clues in faded documents written hundreds of years ago? Which other pastime can take you on such an amazing voyage; unravelling mysteries from the past and discovering how your ancestors’ lives were touched by some of the great events from history?

We have just added 2 lovely new videos to our YouTube channel.

Last night a few members of the Genes Reunited Team headed over to Olympia for the set up of our stand for Who Do You Think You Are? Live.  WDYTYA is the biggest family history event in the world! As it’s so large, it takes months of work to design, create and organise the event, we started planning in October 2012, so it’s a fantastic feeling to finally see it all come together.

Just a very quick update to let you know that the Family Tree now shows the middle name of your relations, or an initial when the full name will not fit. We know this is something a lot of people have asked for, so we hope you find it useful. 

Some of you may know Susanne from the boards. She welcomed our talented production crew in to her home, and shared her top tips and advice on camera. She will be back in a number of other videos, and we are looking for more Genes Reunited members to feature in similar films. Whether you have advice you would like to share, or an amazing family story to tell, get in touch if you would like to be the star of our next video.

We can't believe that it's that time of year again already! This weekend sees the Who Do You Think You Are live show taking place from Friday the 22nd February to Sunday the 24th at Olympia in London. And we are going to be there!
