Find Ancestors

Am looking for above surname, James and his sons Robert and Andrew were Tailors in Selkirk (James senior was married in approximately 1751)

Andrew was born approx. 1753 and Robert was a Burgess (married approximately 1782).

Selkirk is a burgh in the Borders of Scotland and Burgess of Selkirk was a position

"Burgess of Selkirk. A 'man of the Burgh', he was permitted to practice a trade."

I think Margaret has inadvertently left out the surname of the people she is seeking information about.

I wondered if she meant that the 3 were tailors, and one was a Burgess ...... which I've always thought of as something like a councilman or even Mayor.



I guess this is another one psoted on the Surname Board, where the surname is showing in the header ...... but not on History!!
