Help!!! Does anyone have any information relating to Ezra Shama (I only know he had died prior to October 1944, his occupation was a 'Cotton Classifier' and he had a daughter called Ginette who was born circa 1917).
I apologise for these scant details but any information would be so much appreciated.

Hi Pam,
Thanks but unfortunately these details don't match - Ezra (born 1912) couldn't have been Ginette's father (she was born in 1917).
I have already discounted the Shama/Cobley marriage as not being viable.
I am unsure whether Ezra was born in UK - only information I have is from his daughter, Ginette's marriage certificate.
Ginette served in WAAF during World War II (unable to locate her birth details either) and her nationality was given as 'English'.
Any other ideas?????

If you use Quick seach at the top of the page and put in Ezra Shama....there are no listings but at that point you can change the form at the bottom of the page to just Shama (no first name) and there are three pages of listings...mainly Egypt and Middle East origins.

These are the only Ginettes I can find between 1915 and 1920

I have tried the 'quick search' option and have contacted a couple of the people, just on the 'off chance' - but it seemed I have just been clutching at straws and they were unable to offer any assistance.
I seem to be running out of ideas.
Ginette married, whilst serving with WAAF in Alexandria in 1944, just know Ezra had died by that time. A witness to the marriage was an Ida Shama (once again unable to locate her details).
I'm 'stuck up a gum tree without a paddle' I think!!!!

For some considerable time I've been trying to find further information regarding Ezra Shama.

My investigations have located a gentleman named Ezra who had been born circa 1882 in Egypt.. His parents were French (but no further details available).

Possibly this connection could have influenced Ezra's choice of a name for his daughter i.e. Ginette.

I would appreciate any further advice or suggestions.

I am unsure whether Ezra actually lived in England. I only know he visited England when on business.

Ezra's daughter, Ginette, claimed English citizenship on her 1944 marriage certificate.

I have discounted the Ezra Shammah link as 'my' Ezra had died prior to 1944 (this was verified by Ginette's (Ezra's daughter) marriage certificate.
