Find Ancestors

I need help finding info on ancestors-- The oldest ancestor I can find is James Shilliday c1823-1910 who married Nancy Ann McConnell c1823-1915 they were married in 1943. They were members of Leitrim Church of Ireland County Down Northern Ireland. I need to get their parents names, Dates, etc. The Shilliday name in my tree has died out as the male members died before they reached adult age accept my Uncle (who I knew)
never married. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Edward...Can you confirm where the Marriage 1843 took place...Leitrim is a County in its own right as is the County Down ...
Are you referring to Leitrim Village in the Co.Down..?

I assume you have checked the 1911 Census...there are 59 Shilliday listed however I have only located 2 in Leitrim...
Joseph aged 29 single farmer .Bacfaderry
Margaret "Shelliday" aged 70yrs.widow .Farmer. Benraw.
Living with Margaret is Sam McKracken son-in-law aged 40yrs widower.Butcher.

Brian...This is the earliest Shilliday in the Co.Down I have found so far but dont know if connected to your family...

I have from John 1861 forward -- I would like to go back into the 1700s but I think this is my last resort as I can not find anything else--I hope this makes sence as I copied it from my files.

Brian...Do you have the Marriage Registration from the Church...? That would give you their repective father's names...Are you certain the children listed were the only children born to James and Nancy..?
Is all the info.you have from Ancestry or do you have original Primary Source Docs.
The reason I ask is that I do not use Ancestry but look Church Reg.etc.

Brian...There is something not quite right with the dates...
James married Nancy in 1843...
The first child born as per your list is John 1861....You can see that means they were married for nearly 20yrs before the first child was born...???

Brian..I have the Birth of a Richard Shilliday b.1873 to William "Blew" and Mary Anne Shilliday so the date for her "birth " abt.1864 is definately not correct unless there were 2 Mary A's marrying Blews...

The dates above are correct BUT his siblings dates may be wrong I was going by the way they were listed on his will assuming he went by age, BUT they may have been listed by the amount of money left to them.
