I deleted my first post on this family as I have since found some information that proves my Mackay family is NOT related to the other Mackeys from Ireland as previously thought.

John Mackay (or other various spellings) born c1845 -not sure of date - Newcastle upon tyne, England. He married Agnes Cavill (born 1850), in NSW Australia. On his death certificate it states his parents were Thomas Mackay (Miner) & Carolline Hyanson.

John Mackay came to Australia about 1863. He was 23 when he married in 1868 in NSW, which makes his birth c1845.

I am after his birth in England & if possible, his parent's marriage date as well.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I have looked in all the places I have at my disposal, but have been unable to locate him or his family.

The births and Marriage are from Free BMD. The click to view is copied and pasted from the original so of course won't work on here.

Thanks for that.

I had a look on the BMD & will possibly send for the certificate. I will try to find them in a census, if possible first, to see if they match up though, before I spend the money.
