Find Ancestors

Trying to trace my grandfather's elder sister. Believe she may have gone to France in WW1 and maybe had a son Louis? Would really like to know more about her.

What happened to her after 1891 census?

I do not know as that is as far as I have been able to get. Know both her parents were dead by 1901 census.

Her birth record doesn't mention Malta

Guess she was registered later? She was Alice R O in census 1891:

Have discovered the death for Alice Rose - and also a second marriage to an Alfred Leonard Oliver in 1935 Q1. West Ham and sent for the marriage certificate which confirmed I had the right person. However I still can't find her first marriage but from the certificate I have she was married to a Mr. La Gamba - can't find a marriage or death in England/Wales registers. Tried France but to no avail also the passenger lists but with no result. Any ideas where to look next?

Thanks for the information. Don't think the Floriana Cemeteries entries are relevant to my immediate family as the dates are too early. Nevertheless it was interesting to see.

Her parents married 18 Dec 1878 at St Paul's Church, Malta.

It would seem she married abroad and her marriage wasn't registered at the British Embassy .

How do you know about the possible son ? Was he Louis La Gamba ?

Not seeing anything on him online

When/where did Alice & Alfred die? Just thinking there may be probate records.

Also, LaGamba seems to be throwing up far more Italian connections than French - have you researched for her in Italy or Malta (which has strong Italian influences)?
