For some reason I haven't been able to copy and paste but in the 1881 census for Derbyshire, Morton, District 15 (which is in the Chesterfield District) there is a Kerry family. Father is Thomas, age 39, a labourer, mother Rebecca age 31 and four children including a 16 year old daughter Sarah and a 4 year old son George. Could this be them? The address looks like Loar Morton - I think this might be the enumerator's spelling of Lower Morton.

Got called away last night and have only just got back. I'm glad Tempest has found so much for you.

There is a tree on Ancestry that has Sarah Kerry as the daughter of Thomas Kerry and Rebecca Rhodes. This tree doesn't have Mary Ellen but does have a Thomas Kerry born to Sarah in 1885. By the 1891 census she is living with a Joel Watson and using his name. Sarah married Joel in 1896 having already had three children by him, and went on to have several more. Joel appears to have been at least 30 years older than Sarah.

Of course, you can't assume that anything on anybody else's tree is correct but it might be worth checking out if you are interested in this bit of the family.
