My maternal great great great grandmother Eliza Malachy originally married Philip Davey Serjeant in 1828. Unfortunately Philip died in Canada in 1834. I understand that Eliza then remarried John Grills Burgh in 1836 but that he died a year later in 1837. Can any one help me find out more about John Burgh?

I have been informed by a distant cousin that after John Grills Burgh married Eliza Serjeant in 1836 that they had twins who died at birth, probably in early 1838. Can anyone throw any light on this?

Regards
David

David I'm adding to this old thread because I ran across it when searching for the previous thread related to your new thread

I wondered whether you had eventually found this

Deaths Jun 1838
Burgh Eliza Liskeard 9 100
Burgh John Grills Liskeard 9 101
Burgh John Grills Liskeard 9 101

the freebmd theory is that the John entries are an original and a duplicate, but it seems from your info that John and Eliza had twins named for themselves who died the same quarter as their father

(or he was already deceased and that is a duplicate entry for the child, as you said he died in 1837 - but I seen no record of that death in the GRO index or parish records at the OPC site)
