I have recently discovered James was my great great grandfather from my great grandmother Eliza Eastwood's death certificate. Via Family Search I have found the household in the 1881 census - James, wife Sarah, stepson Stephen Randall and a lodger William Goodall.
It would be good to know if anyone else researching this family please.

When and where was Eliza born?

When and where did she die?

Is this the right Eliza?

Marriages Sep 1880 (>99%)
Eastwood Henry Birkenhead 8a 622
GRIFFITHS Eliza Birkenhead 8a 622

Can you say why you've picked on the man born in Pulford to be her father?

England/Wales death certs do not name fathers of deceased persons

Thank you for your responses. I had a quick search but not found anything - I know that Randall has also been shown as Randles but don't now if Sarah was married before she married my GG grandfather as she had a son. So, don't know if I have her maiden name. Also, whilst I'm not researching him, I had picked up the 1881 census info about the coachman and you never know, perhaps someone is and wondered about his landlord's family. Long shots sometimes pay off!
I have Henry Eastwood & Eliza's marriage certificate and both their death certificates. On Eliza's death certificate her father was "in attendance" and his residence is show as Pulford.

The present has been getting in the way of the past - as it so often does!
Thank you for the finds re James' marriage and Eliza's christening.
In reply to Reggie's questions - the marriage of Henry & Eliza was witnessed by a couple surnamed Cooke. When they married, Henry was a 60 year old widower and Eliza a 40 year old spinster (though already had two children - Sarah Griffiths Eastwood born 16 May 1876 at 106 Oliver St, Birkenhead and Herbert my grandfather - don't have his birthdate but he was about 2 or 3 yrs older)
Eliza died on 25 Jul 1882, Henry had already died on 28 Jan 1881, both died at 93 Oliver St, Birkenhead - Eliza, Herbert & Sarah were at no. 93 at the 1881 census.
Apologies in advance if I don't respond quickly to any postings - it'll be a few days before I'll get any free time!

A GR member has recently contacted me as her friend was seeking info about James and Sarah. The friend is descended from Eliza's sister. We have been emailing and as far as I can work out, she's my third cousin twice removed! So.......hope springs eternal!!
