I don't think she was in a nursing home as you thought - the post code Prickles found was actually a sheltered housing unit (looks like individual flats) run by Anchor Housing. It's details are here:

http://www.housingcare.org/housing-care/facility-info-16928-home-farm-court-sixways-england.aspx

My mother in law is in a similar place also run by Anchor, and she is still living independently.

It's 15 July, and probate was granted 30 September. She left a will, which you could order (£10) if interested just search & order from here:

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

You're not being dumb, I should have added the headings on my post. The above site is free to use, and really useful for recent probate details, you just have to pay if you want details of the will and who obtained probate.

Many thanks Flip malyon & PricklyHolly

It seems that the probate one by Flip looks like it is correct Her name was Doris Eileen Vallins:
Is the death date for the probate one 30th September 2014 or 15th July 2014 Flip?

Sorry if I appear a bit dumb:

I have bought this to the fore again as I have more info but still need help:
I have found the death of John James Vallins in 1980 from probate records:
Still need to find death of Doris E Vallins:
I have info that she has passed away: I know that she was alive in August 2013 living in a nursing home in Cheltenham Glous: So she must have died between August 2013 and February 2017:
If any one can help please: Is any one going to the records office in Gloucestershire and maybe could look up the records:
I have tried google for deaths notices in the papers but no luck:
Maybe one of you good people that are better than me at finding these things out will have some luck:
Many thanks:

No I am not sure they are both dead: I suppose she could be alive 94 would be a good age, and I think her son and family live in Cheltenham:

Thank you both, I don't have their exact D of B sorry
Looking at the marriage found by chrissie2394 I suppose that could be a second marriage if John Vallins had died earlier:

Chrissie2394 Report 18 Aug 2013 16:22

There is a Doris E Vallins living in Cheltenham Gloucester.

Are you sure they have both died. My nan died in January this year and she was 9 years older than Doris.

This is a little out age-wise (the info recorded is only as good as the informant's knowledge), but a possible

England & Wales, Death Index, 1916-2007
Name: Evelyn Doris Vallins
Birth Date: 29 May 1922
Date of Registration: Jan 1992
Age at Death: 69
Registration District: Basingstoke
Inferred County: Hampshire
Volume: 20
Page: 197

EDIT: I see Doris' birth was registered first quarter of 1919 so the day and month don't fit either.

Mumbles - do you know their exact dates of birth as that can be a big help when trying to find death records?
