769940 Cecil James Martin 1914-18 Canadian Forces

Rondog Report 12 Apr 2014 22:58

Cecil James Martin was the son from my Grandad's first marriage to Elizabeth Marshall 1871-1899. They were married 5 Jun 1892 Walworth, Surrey, England.
I am led to believe that he was part of a group of approx 121 "enforced child imigratory plan" to Canada on 19 Sep 1901 on the Tunisian; destination Peterborough, Quebec City. In 1916 he was listed on 1935 Voting list along with his wife "Mary". They apparently had a baby (f) born in 1923. In 1968, Cecil retired and was still with Mary. Later they were located in Burnaby, Seymour, British Columbia?
.??
I'm hoping that my Canadian cousins can give me more information,
(1) the date of his marriage (2) his wife Mary's maiden name.
(3) Mary's date of birth and where born. (4) the date and place of their demise.
(5) the names, dates of birth etc of any children.
For my sins, I am researching the Martin family and, so far, I have got back to the 1600's in my search.

Please remove your birth details, before someone reports your post to GR

It is foolish to include such info on this insecure site......and totally unnecessary.

Canadian BMD info is not as readily available as its UK equivalent

I'm sure Joonie Cloonie will be along soon to enlighten you

He was a "Home Child" in the care of Barnados. The ship arrived in Quebec but he was destined to Peterborough which is in Ontario. There was a Barnados Home there.

Ron

Having tried to assist you, I am disappointed to see that you have at least two previous requests about this family..........

ONE post per topic is the site 'rule'

I merely pointed out that the man in BC does not appear to be the one related to you...........if you read the details of his death, I'm sure you will come to the same conclusion

Its been some time since I was last on FIND ANCESTORS, even being on GR was difficult to say the least

However, all I want to say at this moment in time is:

Thank-you to everyone who helped me get to the bottom of problems I posed you all.

Thanks a bunch
Ron
