I cant find birth or christening for my great great grandad George Watkinson born 1824 in Gainsborough. He died in 1889. His father was William. He moved from Gainsborough to Lambeth and had an iron foundry in Waterloo Road. |

Hello everyone and thank you. Yes you have the correct George and I have his death certificate and his marriage cert. to Sarah Hobden. But I cant find births for either of them. I've tried dusty docs and lincs to the past. |

Thank you. I considered the Bigby christening but the date threw me. However your marriage of his parents does explain it. I dont understand the indexing and GS film details. Is this something which will give me a copy of the original details and if so how can I obtain them? Thanks for your help. |

Just for information, Gainsborough is more than 20 miles from Bigby, and so although the information fits it is still slightly suspect. |
