Hello,
Emma is proving to be quite illusive!
She was almost certainly abandoned by her husband in 1875 when he sought a new life in America. I believe that Emma many years later married a Geary (of the Leicester Bakery Family), but I have been unable to track her whereabouts from then on.
Any info would be much appreciated.

Note Harriet Geary was born c1876 so must have been quick get together if mum was Emma Cursham nee Mason who married in 1875

A tree on Ancestry says that Harriet Louisa Cursham born 1875 was daughter of James Cursham & Emma Hurst Mason. She married Albert Shelton and had 5 children.

So when did James Cursham desert the family

This looks like Harriet L., listed as daughter of Thomas & Elizabeth Mason but she's 5 and Elizabeth is 57! Also someone has corrected the name to Cursham.
