Who were his parents?
He marr. Helen BENSLEY and I have the details from then to now - it's from Thomas Austin going backwards I'm looking for.

Have you attempted to contact the Hubli cemetery, Glenys? His parents may well be buried in the same cemetery as Thomas.

To ArgyllGran - the rootsweb and genforum are my early foray into this search in 2008!
Is the Hubli cemetery in Kanpur? I do not know India at all and this is all so difficuly as the family either do not know anything or do not want to divulge what they know. It is my ex-husbands family but our children are descendants of this Thomas Austin and they have a right to know (of their heritage and forebears).


To Ricochet - we have a headstone photograph from, I believe the Kanpur cemetery which (very kindly) gives both birth & death date as well as his wife's name. His wife and their descendants are known. Have been unable to locate a birth or death certificate for him through FIBIS.

I only suggested contacting Hubli cemetery because you had mentioned Hubli as a possible burial place in your 2012 genforum thread.

Now that I've looked it up in my atlas, I see it's nowhere near Kanpur.

New information this morning suggests that Thomas AUSTIN died d.24 Sep 1957 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Anyone have records for this area? ;-)
