Hello All,
I have been given a picture of a lady blacksmith from WW1. I have had this picture restored and has come out great. The story with this picture is.....
This was given to me by my elderley father-in-law all he remembers that the picture is of his mothers cousins wife who took over the village smithy. This pic apparently was also in the local press at the time he thinks it would have been somewhere in Essex. He would love to know this ladys name and i would like to help him also.

His mother was Hetty May Hopkins born 1904-london.

If its his mothers cousin wife then i have to be looking for brothers and sisters of his mothers parents and look to see there children if any was a blacksmith?

Hi Andy, yes harriet had a twin but died.

I think trying to work out the name of this person i have to look at harriets brothers and sisters and her husbands Augustus hopkins brothers and sisters because i am looking for a cousin of hettys ?

Also think Pryor has been spelt pryor,pryer,prior.

There's a story here about a lady blacksmith. She's 70 years old in 1938 and her name is Mrs. Arnold. Possible?

Cant find 1911 census for Henry Hopkins born 1874-hoxton and his wife edith born 1875 pancras have seen the 1901 census but not 1911.
