at the moment i dont know how old John was when he died,i was hoping a probate might give me a clue,

There is one for 1958 and one for 1960.

could someone please tell me what they both say.

I'm not seeing probates for the 2 deaths you mention.

Probates give the date of death but no age, as Prickles says above - tell us when he was born and what was the last known sighting of him.

Would probably have made more sense if you'd looked the deaths up first to get the ages.
