Hi there - look for a burial of Ursula Turner (nee Poppleton).

She was married to John Turner. Her family was raised around Topcliffe in Thirsk.

Can anyone spot a burial for her and John?

Best wishes,

Peter

Thank you - I wonder if the age on the 1786 burial is perhaps a mistranscription?

And the 1842 one could be John and Ursula's daughter - I've not found a marriage yet.

Any sign of a burial for John?

ArgyllGran Report 30 Aug 2014 18:15

Well, there's this, but goodness knows if it's him or not. Silkstone's near Barnsley, so probably not:

EDIT - Ignore this - senior moment - Taylor instead of Turner!

Name: John Taylor

You say, "I've not found a marriage yet"
For whom?
Ursula & John's marriage (1771) is posted above.

Peter

Peter Report 30 Aug 2014 18:22

Not found a marriage for Ursula junior.

Not sure if the 1815 burial is John as that one is for a John TAILOR not TURNER.

What do you think?

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 30 Aug 2014 18:24

Yes, I've edited it above - senior moment - searched for the wrong name!

Peter

Peter Report 30 Aug 2014 18:26

Not a problem.

There is no image to check for the 1786 burial I posted earlier so I suppose it could be a mistranscription of the age.

I can't find a burial that looks likely for John on Findmypast but the records are by no means complete.

Oh heck - that throws a spanner in the works!

Thank you - not sure which one is which?

Peter

Peter Report 31 Aug 2014 13:32

Is there any way to differentiate which burial is which? I.e. which one relates to Ursula born in 1743 in Staveley?

Peter

Peter Report 31 Aug 2014 13:33

Also been looking for a marriage of Ursula's parents but can't find anything. Any ideas?
