AMATEUR ARTIST DEAD
FOUND IN GAS FILLED ROOM WHILE UNDER SUMMONS.
Henry Makepeace Walton, aged 66, a gas fitter, of Severn Street, Shrewsbury, was found dead in a gas filled room yesterday. He had been summoned to appear at the Police Court on Saturday to answer a charge of causing unecceasry suffering to a dog.
Walton was a painter of considerable talent, and had executed many water colours of local subjects.

WORRIED BY SUMMONS
A verdict of suicide while insane was returned at an inquest at Shrewsbury on Friday on Henry Makepeace Walton (65), gas meter tester, 42 Severn Street, Shrewbury, who was found dead with a piece of gas tubing in his mouth at his home on Thursday morning.
The discovery was made by Mrs Walton who told the coroner that her husband had been worried because he had been summoned to appear at the local court on a charge of causing unnecesary suffering to a dog.

My fathers first wife was Florence Francis (Fanny) Walton. They married in 1915. I am trying to find out what happened to her and whether there are any children.
She was born in Preston, Lancs in 1888/9.
My father went off to fight with the second canadian contingent in the first world war. He probably lived in Canada before that. They were in the hotel trade after the war and divorced sometime between 1935 and 1940.
