1901 census says the children were born i Huckwall Notts! John is a coal miner so I think this is the right family.

I will pass the information on and perhaps the old chap might decide to buy a certificate or two.

I dont no how you managed to find the Witchells, i never came even came remotely close.

NO Gins that is all the information i have of the family off the 1911 census.

I am trying to find them for a very old gent who until now had no idea of who or where his great grandparents or his grandmother came from.

I believe Lily born 1894 on the 1911 census is his grandmother and she married in Coventry.

The original for the above census clearly says Mitchell.

And Catherine, the wife, was born in Stanton, Derbyshire

Edit: The 1911 has the couple married 26 years making them 9 when they married! Do you have John's parents to check his birth year

Could anyone please help me find this family on the 1901 census.

The census says they have been married for 26 years, of course this just throws everything to pot for me.

There are only 2 births in Tamworth for a John Mitchell that might fit, different surname spelling. one in 1873 and one in 1867.
