At first glance, I would question your maths regarding Joseph being the son of Edward., who would have been 56 years old in 1791

I have been unable to find William (1819) in 1841 on FMP

Perhaps he can be found on Ancestry?

A tree on Ancestry says that William (1819-1878) was the son of Joseph (1791-1851) who was the son of another Joseph (1760-1808)

Essex records are in very short supply on the LDS site.

I believe there is a dedicated site for the County...is it SEAX?

(1841 FMP Boreham, has Samuel above, with a Joseph Rutlege 20yrs, but opposite page is Joseph and Sarah R with a Joseph 15yrs, maybe Samuel got muddled, should have been William with him!)
