William Gray, Wellingborough 1824

Richard Report 18 Oct 2014 11:34

I am trying to trace the ancestors of William Gray born in Wellingborough in !824. From 1841 onwards he was living in Houghton-on-the-Hill Leicestershire. In all the censuses bar one his age accords with a birth of 1824 (the other 1823). He onsistently gives his birthplace as Wellingborough.

On his marriage certificate of December 1844 his age is given as 22 and his father named as David Gray, brewer.

In 1841 he is an apprentice in Houghton to John Gray, tailor , who was born in Grafton Northants c 1779. Also in the house is John Gray's wife Mary born c 1780.

I have no access to Wellingborough records. Can Anyone help?

Richard
