I'm trying to find my great great grandfather who was born in 1838 in Hawick, Roxburgh, Scotland who moved to Valance Lodge, Forest and Frith, Teesdale in Durham where he met and married Frances Garget in 1859 when he was 21 years of age and she was 19. They had 4 children, John born1867, Hannah born1873, Peter Emmerson born 1877 and Frances born 1881. I have managed to find out this information when he came to live in Teesdale but I haven't been able to trace any information about his parents and family members in Scotland.
