Searching for any information on Isabella. Mother Helen Simpson then Gilfillan (m William 11/07/1912). Isabella m James Clark 05/06/1925 Carriden Scotland. Have scarce information up to births of children. Isabella left the marriage approx. 1950's and there is nothing after that. May have changed her name, relocated or remarried. Any information would be appreciated.

I've searched on Scotland's People - that's where I got the above certificate. Also search Ancestry

So if Isabella was born in 1912 she would be passed away by now most probably

If she left her hubby and didn't divorce then she could have lived with someone and used his surname .

Not sure if you can search scottish deaths with the date of birth

The age is out by 8 years, but I can't help wondering..................the name combination is very unusual, and the 'S' could (possibly) represent Simpson

her maiden name and birthplace should be on the cert

There is no birth for the name as per the death record, nor is there on freebmd a marriage for Kelf to anyone named Isabella

At first I thought it couldn't be her, because of this other marriage which came up when I looked for a first marriage:

However, that Isabella Forrest didn't remarry - see her death record below, where there's no mention of Kelf as another surname - and anyway, it's clearly not the same death as Jacqueline found! - but interesting that it's in Carriden area, where your Isabella married James Clark ?!:

So Isabella Kelf might be the right person.
You'd have to order the marriage certs to see mother's name, and to see if Isabella Forrest who married Geoffrey Kelf had previously been Simpson.

Does your Isabella say she's a spinster at her marriage to James Clark? Or list any other surnames?

On second thoughts, if your Isabella left her marriage to James Clark approx. 1950's, then she can't be the one marrying Geoffrey Kelf in 1942 ??

In what years were the Clark children born? Just to give us an idea of timescale.

Perhaps Isabella Forrest's mother Joan Simpson was a sister or other relation of Helen Simpson??
That might explain the recurrence of the name Greenaway.

Helen married in Bo'ness, which is the same area as Carriden.
Helen's middle initial was G - maybe Greenaway??

There is a Joan Simpson who was witness to the marriage of Helen G Simpson and William Gilfillan 1912, so possibly a sister to Helen and aunt to Isabella.
Isabella and James Clark had children the first one being Ellen Clark b 1926 and the last one Ethel Elizabeth Duff Clark b1941.
Isabella Clark was listed as a spinster on her marriage to James Clark. She was 18yrs old.
Really appreciate your help here - I feel like I've hit a dead end and it's interesting to see it through fresh eyes.

Further Helen G Simpson was 23yrs old when she married William Gilfillan (25yrs old) 11/07/1912 Bo'ness, so birth date app 1889. Her father is listed on the marriage cert as Thomas Simpson and mother Isabella Greenaway.

The child transcribed as John, is actually a girl - Johann (or Joan):

So that will be the Joan who witnessed Isabella's marriage to James Clark..

However, she doesn't seem to be the same Joan who married Charles Forrest.. Curiosity got the better of me, and I had a look at the Forrest/Simpson marriage cert.
That Joan was 23, so also born 1891, and her parents were also Thomas and Isabella - again, a lot of coincidences - but her mother's maiden name is given as Stewart.

But I can't see her birth, and I can't see that family in 1901.
Nor can I see a marriage for Thomas Simpson and Isabella Stewart.
