Find Ancestors

Thank you to all who assisted me in tracing my father's family which needs

further research as his mother had been married before and there were

children from that marriage.

My father, George Shotton was born in June, 1902 at 48 Peacock st; West

Sunderland. He died in Dec; 1960[IA 1024] He had 2 sisters.[1911 census]

In the census 1901, it showed that his mother had 2 step daughters &

a stepson. Prior to becoming Shotton, she was Mary Ann Watson, born in

1863, Sunderland. My grandfather, George Shotton was also born in the same

year.

The step children were; Lily Watson, born 1885, Ethel 1886,& Robert I888.

I would like to know if anyone has any connection with the Shotton or Watson family Thankyou.

Have you been able do any research?

Have you looked for info on freebmd, for example, to follow-through on the names?

If Watson was Mary's name when she married Shotton, the Watson children were hers - they weren't her stepchildren

And, of course, Watson wasn't her maiden name

jacqueline, I have managed to add more family members to my tree.after

researching a few other sites, along with the help from you. I must confess I am

not very confident in this type of search but, I'm making an effort.

After amending some of the mistakes I made, I will request to look at other

members family trees. My next search will be to search for my great

grandparents from the Shotton side of the family. Regards
