Wasn't sure about that marriage as Martha dies in Welshpool the year after George. Maybe they didn't stay together?

on FMP there's a passenger list to Singapore, 1955, with Mrs Martha Amelia Martin (b.21/04/1911), a child Harold b.1941 and child Philip b.1952. Address is given as 12 Meas-Owen, Welshpool.

Martha's death:

First name(s) MARTHA AMELIA
Last name MARTIN
Gender Female
Birth day 21
Birth month 4
Birth year 1911
Death quarter 3
Death year 1987
District WELSHPOOL & LLANFYLLIN
Register number 987
County Montgomeryshire

Harold was the one I thought could be theirs - the unusual name combination for George does suggest he could have married Martha.

Can't spot a Martin/Rimmer 1951 birth

The ones on freebmd suggest at least 2 Martin/Rimmer couples

1941 Welshpool - George + Martha?
1944 Durham E *
1944 Liverpool S **
1946 Durham E*
1949 Liverpool N **
1954 Nottingham ??

* Couple A
** Couple B

Do you have any other information about him Amiaannouck ??

In what way is he connected to you?

Gritty

Gritty Report 20 Mar 2015 15:28

It's strange as apart from birth for Harold I don't see any other info for a Harold James William, or a Philip George.

The attestation put up by Glitterbaby earlier states that George re-enlisted in 1958.

? You can order his death certificate from the GRO using the information (place, volume and page number) Gins put up above. (Cost £9.25):

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

His death certificate will tell you his address and who registered the death.

Alternatively you could order his birth certificate on the same site to find out his parents- from this you may be able to find if he had any siblings.

Yvonne - we've been careful not to post the details of Harold as he is likely to be living - although the Philip reference may be relevant, Philip (adopted surname) Martin is amiaannouck's father!

"Thankyou everyone so far for all your help youve given me regarding my grandfather, im trying to find where he may be buried or where his ashes are, ive spoken to Oakley wood records and they have said they have no record of his burial in the Leamington area, but they said they dont keep records of smaller churches where he could of been buried, does any body know where or who I would contact to try and trace this, tia %3A-%29"

Did you order the death certificate?

What address was he living at on the death cert? If it was a residential address (as opposed to a hospital) he may have been buried/ or cremated at the church/ cemetery/ crematorium local to his address.
