Find Ancestors

Hi all

Can anybody see if they can locate the birth of Ernest McKellar Green in New Zealand, ca 1888.

I am asking for somebody else so the only other known info, is the he married Alice Eyles in 1915. It is just parents of Ernest that we are trying to confirm.

It's a bit late here now so will be going off line shortly but will check for any responses you may be able to offer in the morning!

His father should be named on the marriage cert, if he knew him

Is it 100% certain that he was born in New Zealand?

Unable to provide more detailed info, as FMP is playing up.

Certainly have utilised all the free sites but not currently active on ancestry or FMP p, so was hoping somebody might be able to assist with a lookup. :-D :-D

There is a possibility that the parents are Charles Green & Jane Mickell (Mickel/mickle).

His death reg gives dob as 3/4/1889 :

His father may be named as NOK on the service record - depends when he enlisted

He COULD have been living with parents in 1911.........which was BEFORE he married

His probate is recorded in Nelson and you can order this from

Archives New Zealand, National Office, Wellington either by ringing them, writing to them or quickly e-mail them and they will send info to you by return e-mail. The charge was $20.00 but not sure now. If you know someone in Wellington they can view it at the Archives office at no charge.

It was believed that Charles Green & Jane Mickell were his parents, and I think everything points to this being accurate.

I will pass the information over and its their choice whether to purchase certs or not.
