Trying to find info about my late great-uncle Bunn

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Adam Report 7 Oct 2015 22:08

Hello

I'm trying to find any info about my late great-uncle, Baynard Coxon aka Bunn. I believe he was born in Australia or New Zealand. He came to Britain at a young age and served in the RAF. His wife was my paternal grandmother's eldest sister, the late Joyce Shield Coxon. As far as I know they lived the majority of their lives in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear.

Any help on this will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Adam

Adam the marriage was in 1942, buying the cert will give you Baynard's fathers name.

I'm assuming he died fairly recently? as he and wife were on the electoral roll 2002, do you know if she has also died as one needs to be cautious about discussing living people on this open board.

Adam Report 7 Oct 2015 22:25

Yes, Joyce passed away about 15 years ago and Bunn passed away about 5 years ago. I never knew this until 5 minutes ago....It appears that her firstname was Margaret and Joyce was her middle name.

To make sure that any information found is relevant to your family it is essential to invest in birth, marriage and/or death certificates.
For you to go forward with any certainty you really should buy a copy of Baynard's marriage certificate, this should give you his father's name and his occupation which will confirm, or not, if Augustus Leopold Coxon is indeed his father.
If he isn't, then we will have to look in another direction.
