good to hear you are warm ........

....... we're warm inside, but it's damp and parky outside!! We might see some of the "s" word later

I do live in the Banana Belt of Canada, so it's probably about as cold outside as in the UK at the moment

I found this last night, but didn't post it. It might help the helpers!!

Emily and ??brother and sister in the workhouse??

1871 Census

Name: Emily Craycraft
Age: 9
Estimated birth year: abt 1862
Relation: Dealeaus <<<<<<<<<<<< I have no idea what this word is meant to be
Gender: Female
Where born: Margate, Kent, England
Civil Parish: Minster
County/Island: Kent
Country: England
Registration district: Thanet
Sub-registration district: Minster
ED, institution, or vessel: Isle of Thanet
Household schedule number: 1
Piece: 990
Folio: 108
Page Number: 2

.
.
.
Walter Geo Craycraft 13 b.ca 1858, Margate, Mariner Store (???I think possibly Mariner)
Emily Craycraft 9
Jemima Craycraft 6 b.ca 1865, Margate, Orphans
.
.
.

Address:- Isle of Thanet Union Workhouse, Minster, Thanet

If one looks at the image the word Dealeaus is bracketed with the word Orphans after Jemima's name, so it seems to be "Dealeaus Orphans"

greyghost

greyghost Report 23 Nov 2015 19:49

This could be the family with Frederick aged 4 in 1861 - the original looks like Craycraft.

A Henry Craycraft aged 24 and family live next door.
