Can any of you clever people find a birth for Benjamin Hamilton Mccleery born 1876 in Dundalk co Louth. He is twin to Francis. I've searched several sites and can't him. I've found a birth I think for Francis but nothing else. Thanks

Is this the one you found for Francis?

Francis Mc Cleery
Ireland Births and Baptisms
Name Francis Mc Cleery
Gender Male
Christening Place DUNDALK, LOUTH, IRE
Birth Date 18 Jul 1875
Birthplace Dundalk, Louth, Ire
Father's Name John Mc Cleery
Mother's Name Ann Maher

How sure are you that they are twins ?

What else do you know about them both please?

This would be Francis's birth registration:

Francis Mccleery
Ireland Civil Registration Indexes
Name Francis Mccleery
Event Type Birth
Event Date 1875
Event Place Dundalk, Ireland
Registration Quarter and Year 1875
Registration District Dundalk
Volume Number 12
Page Number 757

IF they were twins then Benjamin's registration should surely be next to Francis's. - I would contact the GRO in Ireland and ask if they could take a look for you.

They may make a small charge?

Thanks everyone for your help ( I've just done a reply but it looks as though it has got lost! If not there will be 2 replies ). I think the Benjamin may be right as his parents are John and Nannie ( Annie ) Usher Mccleery. Francis is not as the parents are different and the mother is different. Could you tell me the best sites to use as you are all having greater success than me! I use Genes,Find my Past and Ancestry. I have also found information on the library in Louth. I want to find Dundalk parish records for that time as well.

Thanks. The information I got from Canadian relatives who had been to Ireland to research. I think my best bet is to look in the Dundalk Parish Records ( church of Ireland) myself if I can find out where they are.
