Emma Report 6 Mar 2016 12:57

I have an address for 94 Chatham street Leicester in 1873 for a fanny Maria Taylor. I can't find her on the 1873 census by searching her name. She is a saleswoman in a shop and therefore could be down as this in the 1871 census. She is a single woman to the best of my knowledge at this time.

I also want to find out who lived at 19 Stamford street in Leicester also as that is where her baby was born.

Formal adoption really only began in the 1920s. Is it possible that Fanny's son was brought up by a family member? Where is he in 1881?

There is a long thread on the son somewhere but my 'search' won't work. It might be useful for background info?
