I am trying to find out some information on Horace Arthur Riches especially his WW2 regiment and or service number if anyone can help with any infromation it will be gratefully received as I have hit a brick wall

Thank you for all your help Ann you have the correct one as Horace was born 27 Aug 1902 in Alford Surrey but soon moved to Norfolk and he died 4Q1991 aged 89. I have found him on the 1911 census but cannot find him on the 1939 register I think he could have already signed up. Thank you Detective I will past that info on. My friend has medals of his but no info and would love to have them framed and give him a story on the medal box it reads Infantry records Warwick could this have been his regiment?

Your friend has the medals - If you look around the outside edge of the rims of the medals his name, service number and Regiment should be marked on there !!

But unfortunately there is no name on them as this was my first question to her they are WW2 medals and my father also got WW2 medals and there is no name on them either

Thank you for your 1939 information I have looked at it but do not know who Earnest and Hilda are as Horace's parents were David and Mary so I was trying to find a connection but as yet no luck.

I couldn't, which is why I thought there was the connection .............. although I did mistake Ernest as his father.

BRANDON.
Sentences of a month's hard labour, to run concurrently, were imposed by the Methwold magistrates on Wednesday On two men who appeared in a series of assault charges. Horace Arthur Riches, of Hythe Road, Methwold, labourer, was summoned for faulting John William Thompson at Methwold on August 6th, James Riches was summoned for assaulting a girl named Jane Wright, and the two Riches were jointly charged with assaulting George Maidwell, all at the same time and place. Mr. J. Westwood appeared for the prosecutors. The cases were the result of a midnight scene.
