Find Ancestors

I have a Robert Henry Pickering birth registered Mar 1909 Stokesly. Familysearch are showing a death Sep 1978 York but only a birth year of 1909. There should be a date of birth attached. When I go to freebmd for some reason there is no death showing up. Could some have a look please?

the informant probably didn't know his actual birth date

On Findmypast it just gives 1909 for the birth year. If you look at the image it says "about 1909". Perhaps whoever registered the death just didn't know the full birth date.

I think it was 1969 that birth dates were added to death listings. I know my father's date of birth was added and he died in 1977.

Thanks. I am betting the death is mine. Unfortunately there does not appear to be a will. I don't think he married at least not in the area he was born and died.
