Find Ancestors

I have not been able to find William Chandler in the 1841 census he had 7 children from this Marriage. His Mother & Father I understood to be James Dwight & Sophia Cock but this does not seem to be the case can you help me with this please

yes this seems to be Him I have his family as George, Jane, Jessie, Anne,Thersa , Walter and James but have not much idea who his parents were as far as I am aware they are all from the Chesham area

The marrige cert should name his father ,if known

This is the only one showing on Ancestry who would have been of a suitable age, and in the right area - BUT there is no way of knowing if he's your William's father or not.
And the family are not in Buckland, where William C was apparently born.

cant tell who his parents are from 1861, can't find a baptism anywhere. I wonder where the name Chandler came from

Looks like a misprint to me as he was down as Charles Dwight on 1881 census in Derbyshire.

No, sorry, Eddie, there seems to be no online birth record for him, and we can't find him in 1841,(though of course he might not have been living with his parents at the time, in any case) so there's no way of knowing who his parents were - apart from the fact that his father seems to have been William, from his marriage cert.

You have to bear in mind that church records were patchy even at the time, and many haven't survived.

You might feel it's worth buying the CD of the Buckland Parish Registers via the following link ??
