Mary -
it's not long ago that Nicki posted, but she may not be watching for replies now. You could try clicking on her name to send her a personal message through the Genes system to let her know of your kind offer.

Detective

Brilliant - thank you. I am in email contact with the Secretary of the Bolton branch of the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society - she is going to see if someone is prepared to go to Heaton Cemetery on my behalf.

Failing that i will put reuqests on billiongraves and findagrave.

Thanks again

Thank you greyghost and Detctive - i will look into your suggestions. Burial date was 1960 and 1975 in the RC section - i have a map etc - so fingers crossed it will have a headstone.

If you dont have any offers, try posting a request on Findagrave and/or Billionsofgraves - not sure of the laters exact name, but it's something like that.

Do please be aware that many graves don't have a headstone either because it was a 'common' grave or the relatives couldn't afford one and that some plots will have been reused.
