Hi

I'm looking for decendents of Florence May Wharton born 1907 in Toronto, Canada, and her sister Alice Rose Wharton born 1913 also from Toronto.
Their parents were John William Wharton and Eva Annie Moore.

John was a Banardos boy who came from Lancashire in 1893/4

Thankyou and fingers crossed

Ontario BMDs are closed for 97/82/0 y - the online indexes are not quite up to date.
NB Although d.certs are technically public records, they are not publicly indexed for 70y.

There is a John William Wharton, b July 1883 in Blackburn, who enlisted in the CEF 19/8/1915 at Toronto.
He lists his n.o.k. as his wife, Annie, of 28 Grant St Toronto.
He doesn't give a full b'day, so it seems he's a bit hazy abt his birth details
He had 4 y of gunnery experience whether militia or Boer War or whatever, I don't know.
At present, only his attestation papers are online:

Name: WHARTON, JOHN WILLIAM
Rank:GNR
Regimental Number: 91329
Date of Birth: 07/1883
Reference:RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 10261 - 21

[It will be abt another 2.5 y before his full service record is free online, via:
http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/first-world-war/first-world-war-1914-1918-cef/Pages/search.aspx ]

I checked CWGC - no hits at:

I also checked Veterans Death Cards: First World War - again no hits

I don't know that I found him on any census. This looks like Florrie in 1921:

I don't think Florrie was a niece on Eva's side, and John's side is possible but not probable.
My guess is she's probably a great-niece on Eva's side.
I was able to follow Eva back from 1901 to Rosa's parents.

I had left this tab open when I was looking at it a while ago

just had another look

did an internet search

Wouldn't everybody have loved to know all the info that had already been requested and found before this thread was posted? ... and not mentioned here ...

Time completely wasted here ... that and a distinct lack of acknowledgement of help in this thread.
