Many thanks everyone.

Alma is a distant relation but I didn't want two little orphaned girls to be missed. There was money as it was paid to Muellers Orphanage but no relatives would take them.

Thanks again

Susan

Susan Report 9 Jul 2016 10:53

Alma was born Q2 1862 (Vol 69 page 277) in Saul, Gloucestershire to Job & Hannah (nee Mace) Lawrence.

In 1865 both her parents drowned. Her sister Emily was admitted to the Mueller Orphanage in Mar 1865. Alma was admitted in mid-late 1865 or so it appears from correspondence I have seen.

1871 census lists an 'Alina B Lawrence' born in Amberley, Gloucestershire aged 8 (piece 2548 folio 14 p19) which I am sure is her.

I cannot find her in the 1881 census. But she pops up in 1883 as a witness to her cousin's marriage (Owen Ely) in Amberley, Gloucestershire.

If anyone has information it would be much appreciated.

Susan
