Maybe they were just living together.

People didnt want others to know their business so they would lie to cover up

Hi,
I have a dilemma maybe you have some suggestions.
My Gt Grandfather Henry George New B 1874 in Oxford m a woman called Louisa Elizabeth Cole Bex in 1896 in Thornton Heath and they had 2 children Victor John and William James. In the 1911 census he is living with his wife called Sarah new in Croydon with 4 children - victor, William but also Edith Winifred and Annie Muriel - it states on the census that they have been married 15 years and have had 5 children. This puts them married at the same time as he married Louisa Elizabeth
Henry George marries again in 1920 as a 'widower'
I cannot find any deaths or divorces from his first wife or second- nor can I find a marriage to his second wife.
Q- Was Louisa really Sarah and vise versa?
Q- what happened to the rest of their children
Q- Did someone lie to the census people?
any ideas or evidence gratefully received! :-D
