If you mean the first record that Sylvia posted (the one below), then Chris already explained his NOK is listed as Mother: Christina Paterson, Inveraray- so not yours.

James Paterson
Age 16
Birth year 1896
Birth county Argyllshire
Birth country Scotland
Service number 1450
Regiment Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders
Unit / Battalion 8th Battalion

This service record is on FMP and have confirmed Mother is listed as Christina and his father as Andrew

Not 1450, his Mother, Christina Paterson, Inveraray. From Pension Record.

(checked by search on Ancestry, Military, using Surname, Number in Keyword box)

Hi Sylvia well done that looks like him all right.
It's said in the family he gave his wrong age (older than he was) just to get into the army. At some point he war shot in the elbow after going over the top and was returned to britain with his injury and never got to return to the front. He came back home to falkirk to be a Iron moulder.

I am trying to find some military records for a James Paterson born 1897 Falkirk, Stirlingshire. It is believed he joined the 8th Battalion Argyll & Sutherlanders at Dunoon, Stirlingshire around 1914/15. May have gone onto be billeted at Bedford before going to fight in France maybe fought in the battle of the Somme?
Any help much appreciated father name William mother Janet I have the family in the Scottish census reports just trying to find James Paterson Military records
