Find Ancestors

Looking for deaths of my Great Great Grandfather and his wife -who I fear must have died young as their children appear to have been brought up by their parents.
Names of husband and wife who may have died young - Edward Yelland (labourer ?) 1802-1835? and Ruth Yelland 1794-1830 who had several children born Hornsey. BUT I can find no record of their relatively early deaths or burials. -anywhere. I THINK Edward's Father was William Yelland - a ships carpenter Plymouth and his wife was Anne and they appear to have taken on Edwards children when Edward and Ruth seem to have died in their early 30s. William was born around 1781. I have come to a 'dead;' stop (sorry) and can get no further records of them or their lives.One of Edwards children John Yelland (my direct ancestor)later became schoolmaster and lived in Harlestone, Northants where he married and brought up all his children. Anyone help. please.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you're asking for. You know the years that Edward and Ruth died but don't seem very sure about them.

Thanks you VERY much folks - I had a pretty good idea of the family back to Edward and Ruth = and then it all got a bit muddled as to why their parents appear to have brought up their children- or some of them - and ( had no idea exactly when or where they died really. I wondered if there was some sort of accidents or epidemic around that time. Their parents William and Anne appear to have both been born around 1780-81 and were on the 1841 census records. so got into their 60s. Bit odd
Thanks again I assume they moved with their son John and family to Harlestone.

If they did die from some sort of epidemic, it seems most likely to have been typhus or cholera according to http://www.kdfhs.org.uk/index.php?Itemid=30

Edward yellard born 1831 in the 1841 census must have been born about 1830 if that is his mother ruth's death in 1830 could she have died in child birth

Many thanks folks - you are being a real help-I struggled to get further back that about 1845 ! Anymore info appreciated. Malyon that would appear a distinct possibility. They had so many children in those days!

Nowthen anything at all about Edwards Father William Yelland - married to Anne - I think - Plymouth possibly ships carpenter - Yelland is a Devon surname - but I had hoped they were smugglers !

William Yelland and Ann Castell married 26/9/1802 in Woolwich

Edward Gelland born 21/7/1803 baptised 17/8/1803 St Mary Magdalene Woolwich by William and Ann Yelland.

Ann Castell 1780-1860 baptised by John Castell and Mercy (a tree on Ancestry says Mercy Stacey.)

William and Ann had daughter Harriett Yelland 1823-1912 she married Robert Edward Dyble he was the son of Edward Dyble and Hannah Castell 1785 sister to Ann Castell.

Many thanks again., John Yelland - my direct ancestor seems to have 'improved' himself - if he started off as a footman and ended up as a schoolmaster - Harlestone , Northants. Seems to have been well thought of there too - I think they put up some sort of memorial to him.

Also, on the 1841 Census there appear to be twins Mary & George F Yelland but I think this is just the ages being rounded down.

Mary I believe should in fact be Mercy b 02 Feb 1817 Woolwich, Bap 26 Feb 1817. Interestingly Ancestry has a copy of image and FMP just a transcription which gives her name as Mary!

George Frederick was baptised in Tonbridge Kent on 3 Dec 1820

Looks like Mercy goes onto marry Daniel Grimes in 1842
