I am looking for the parents of my Great Great Grandfather William Briggs born 1813 Derbyshire.
I thought his parents were John Briggs born 1783 Leics & Hannah Newell who married 23rd July 1808 St Helens Gumley but am now having 2nd thought about them.
1841 John aged 55 is living at Market Harborough with Sopia Newell his sister-in-law
1851 JOHN & his sister-in-law Sophia Newell are living at Stonton Wyville Leicecstershire he is a 67 year old Widower Formally Labourer
My 2x Grandfather William Briggs married Ann Tetley 9th October 1833 at Ashby De La Zouch Leics
1841 WILLIAM & ANN are living at Worthington Breedon on the Hill Leicestershire with sons John, Henry & Joseph
1851 WILLIAM & ANN are living at Spondon, he is a Farm Labourer with children Joseph, Samuel, Elizabeth
1861 WILLIAM & ANN are living at Spondon, he is a Carter Boarding with them is a Charles Beards aged 44 years born Bilston Staffordshire
1871 WILLIAM is a 58 Year Old Widower Farm Labourer is living with his son HENRY also a Widower at Station Lane Gasworks.
My Great Grandfather John Briggs (their son ) 18th August 1833 married Hannah Baxter 10th December 1855 at Whatton Aslockton Notts .Marriage certificate has John as a Policeman & his father William as a Gardener.
