Although his were from RAF National Service just after the war, the ones we have give DOB, name of his NOK and their address.

Added - a while ago someone sent me a transcript of their relatives RAF records. They enlisted 1942. Amongst other info, it gave their full DOB, place of birth, occupation & details of next of kin. As this person was older & married, it also listed his children's names & DOB.

If there's space to add additional info, you could add the names of his parents as a checking point. However, you wouldn't get a refund if it's the wrong person.

I just looked at the Gov.UK website for requesting deceased service personnel records!! It doesn't look easy, if only I could be sure that F/lt Richard F Sinclair, service number 133056 was born 27/08/1919.
I would tackle the complex forms and pay the fee.

Thanks again for the info, just wondering if any of Richard F Sinclair service records would state his DOB? 27/08/1919 Lambeth. Then I would know it's the right person.

As his rank is given as F/lt, (Flight lieutenant) it sounds very much as if he was in the RAF.
With only a couple of exceptions, all the men listed on the page have ranks relating to the RAF eg Flying Officer & Squadron Leader

The transcription was taken from a list held at the National Archive, Archive reference AIR 40/269.
Its probably better to purchase a copy of his military records, and if they don't answer your questions, think about contacting the National Archives to discover if there is anything else to be found.

Records for people who left the forces after 1920 are still with the MOD. Here is a link with information about how to order the service records:-

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

The records cost £30 and often take several months to arrive. You have to meet certain criteria in order to purchase them.

Looking for Richard F Sinclair born Aug 1919, son of Harry Sinclair and Jessie Winifred Hope, of 40 Bessborough Place, Plimlico, London.
He is listed on the above record, service number 133056, can anyone tell me what it says? I only have subs for Genesreunited and it doesn't have this record. Any info about parents very welcome as I am having no luck. Have birth, baptism and death for Richard but nothing else.
Thanks Nicky
