Ancestry's version of the medal roll

F A Emery
Military Year: 1914-1920
Rank: Private
Medal Awarded: British War Medal and Victory Medal
Regiment or Corps: Buffs (East Kent) Regiment
Regimental Number: L/10574
Previous Units: L/10574 1/4 Bn. E Kent Pte

+ IGSM (The India General Service Medal) and Clasp Afghan 1919

He was awarded the British and Victory medals as he began active service overseas after 1 January 1916.

You may already be aware that around 70% of WW1 service records were damaged or destroyed dduring WW2 bombing. If you know he stayed in the Army after 1920, his records could still be with the MOD.
