Ronald V Rowe was born in Islington on 22nd December 1928, father Herbert Rowe, mother Florence Trevett (mistranscribed as Trivett).

I know that he was sent to Bisley Boys school in Esher in the early 1930's and that his mother died in 1939.

The family were told that Ronald emigrated to Canada and was killed in a RTA in the 1950's but I have received information to say that this is not true.

We now believe that Ronald married a Bride Donnelly in Hendon 1954 and had a daughter in Barnet in 1955 (I have ordered and am waiting for the certificates but am sure that the info received is correct).

There are records to show Bride and her daughter leaving on a ship from Southampton for Canada on 27.5.1957 and I have been told that the whole family ended up in New South Wales where Ronald died in 1978.

I have looked on the 1939 register and cannot find Ronald (although this may be because he is not noted as being deceased).

Can anyone see any records for Ronald leaving the UK for either Canada or Australia?

Also, can anyone access Australian records to see if there is any info for Ronald in Australia?

Thank you in advance for any help.

I don't think so as his father was Herbert E Rowe. All of the information I have is in the post above.

We were told by his father's second wife that he had died in the 1950's. My nan (who died last December) never spoke of her brother. Anyone who may know anything is now dead.

The person who has given me the most recent information says that she is Ronald's daughter however she says that she knows nothing about his life and is giving me no information about him apart from his death in 1978.

I appreciate this does not make for easier research.

Thank you again. A letter may be worth a try.

I would love to know more about Ronald and maybe discover why the family decided to tell us that he had passed away rather than moved away.
