I have a problem with the Solomons in my tree.
I have found JOSEPH SOLOMON on all the census but his wife is named as JANE.
My ancestor is JANE SIMS
I have found a JOSEPH and a JANE SOLOMON on all the census and on the 1861 census Jane has her brother staying with her ,GEORGE FREDRICK SIMS.
My problem is that I cannot find a marriage between Joseph and Jane.
Than someone told me that Jane took the jewish name of REBECCA and I found the marriage 21/10/1857 between a JOSEPH SOLOMON and REBECCA SOLOMON

I thought this was the correct marriage but I am trying to prove it.
One of the problems being REBECCAS father is given as ABRAHAM SOLOMON deceased and jJANE SIMS father was THOMAS SIMS.

I am wondering if she would lie about her father or is it possible she took a ''jewish ''father

JOSEPH and JANE SOLOMON have children from 1849

I know this is complicated but I thought if I could find JOSEPH and REBECCA SOLOMON in the census that would rule out the possibility of the marriage certificate I have being my ancestors.

thsanks for your help

Well they are not at 15 Davison Street as that is occupied by a shoemaker called James Hughes and his wife.

I can't seem to find them in 1861.

Do you know the names of any of their children?
