Hi, My husbands Grandmother married his Grandfather on 8th Nov. 1911, her birthday was 28 th Nov. 1889 , confirmed by 1939 register. He was 19 she 21. Details on Marrige Cert show Lilian Irene Draper, spinster, no employment. Father William Draper deceased, was a Farmer. They married at Watford Registry Office.
So far I haven't been able to find any form of Birth registration or census that ties in with this info. Her address at marriage was 99 Whippendell Rd. Watford. I have allowed for the possibility that she may have been a little older than 21 ( as he only 19) . The nearest I can get is a Lilian Draper registered in Ist qtr of 1887 in Hemel Hempstead to a single Mother & baptised in February, Mother Mary.
My husband when thinking back says he remembers relatives from his Grandfathers side, but cannot remember seeing or even hearing about his Gran's side.
If anyone can help or have suggestions on where else to try, I would be very grateful. Currently :-S

as you already said could be this lilian no middle name she could have lied about her age when she married being older then your grandfather hemel hampsted is in the Watford area

Lovely, on the whole your info is same as mine ( with exception of Kidderminster, will look at that). Found her on 1939 which confirmed day & month of birth ( which hubby did know) & matched age to marriage cert ( she could have still been reducing her age though, P'haps). Married name was Fox, have death details as in mother in laws diary. So have all info onwards from marriage, just an alien (lol) from before. Lynn.

AustinQ, Witnesses, were, H &. E. F Puddifoot. Not a connected name I 've come across as yet in the family. ( Puddifoot quite a local name in that part of Bucks) & I've not been able to locate them yet, census etc. Kenward doesn't ring a bell, & no Lillian at that address in the census, so if the address was real she moved there after census.
Alviegal, Yes, that's the family I was looking at in ref. to the single Mum, pleased you have found & concluded the same as me. Think it's going to have to be a BC, if only to rule it out & then the only proof would be a matching birth day & month.
