Can't confirm Ancestors Parents

Hi, I'm researching my G/G/Grandad THOMAS JONES. I believe i have all the available info from Census. BMDs etc for him , his wife and their 9 kids.
The problem is that i can't confirm the id of his parents. Births throw up a poss 6 or 7. The only marriage i can find (Findmypast) for a THOMAS JONES and SARAH OWENS at about the right time is 1829 in Birmingham (going by their ages and their first child's), but no Parent details.
I've come across an 1851 Census with ELIZABETH and THOMAS JONES and 2 Grandsons THOMAS and JOHN whose ages are same/similar to THOMAS and SARAH's 3rd and 4th sons (from 1841 Census in Liverpool). The only trouble is, that would mean THOMAS and ELIZABETH were 11/12 when my G/G/Grandad was born c1808. Coincidence or have they lied about their ages for some reason?
I would be grateful for any tips. Bob.

When was Thomas born please as all the dates are confusing

Did he marry after 1837 so there is a marriage cert that should name his father

Hi Shirley, Sorry. Thomas my G/G/Grandad was born c1808 and his 1st child was born 7/8/1830. So i assume the marriage was before this event.

Hi Maddie, I got that from you originally, thanks for the witnesses.

As you are stating above, when was last child born, any after 1837?, as Shirley says, to get Maiden Name of Mother?...

Bit confusing, and would imagine Jones and Thomas, quite a few!...

(if after 1837, check on above, for Mother maiden Name)

Hi, Shirley, Chris and Malyon, I have got all that thanks. I have a birth cert for their last child ALFRED (my great grandad). That gave me OWENS as mother's maiden name. I also have the birth dates or years of the rest ( some also with same maiden name).
The only one i don't have is for Thomas the coach trimmer (my g/g/Grandad). As i stated. i end up with at least 6 or 7 poss mums and dads of a Thomas Jones born in Wrexham around the time ( in 1841 he is 30 and 1851 42). No great surprise there, as you say Chris, researching Jones's in Wales!
Hi Greyghost, Maddie was kind enough to respond to an earlier thread re: searching for a marriage.

Bob ...............

Chris posted at 17:44 a copy and paste from your previous thread .............. knowing that you had that, but WE the helpers do not.

Witness malyon looking for baptisms in Warwickshire, because she did not kbow that your guy was born in Wales.

This is one of the reasons why it is preferable not to start a new thread about the same people, even if it is for a different event.

Hi Sylvialn, I'm still, very much, a beginner at this. So i take your points and really appreciate the advice. I tried to explain what i had at the start of this thread but, i fully understand now, what you are saying and will spend a lot longer with detailing what is required. When adding to an old/existing thread, how is the new query highlighted?
Thanks.
