I have been trying for years to connect dots with William Sloan and Mary McAvoy Sloan..(1911 Census) and my grandfather Thomas McEvoy....b abt. 1880 possibly Marys brother......

Then a Thomas McAvoy b Maryport abt 1882 appears on the 1901 Census in Eccles Lancs. " Apprentice Shoemaker"....

1911 He is a "Master Shoemaker" married to Selena Reay living in Wallsend and gives his place of birth as Spennymoor Co Durham

His MC gives fathers name as John McEvoy Coal Miner decd.
Thomas was living alone in Wallsend at the time of his marriage so his address was of no help....
