Birth recorded as Thomas "Joweey" Mccormick, 1890, Middlesbrough. Parents = William and Jane Ann/Hannah.
In 1914, Thomas J. joined the Yorkshire Regt. It is believed he was discharged after a few months for health reasons. After that, no more is known about him.
There is a possible death in 1944 in Hull.
Would like to hear from anyone who has him in their tree.

I see the reason for his discharge was " recurring displacement of internal (something?) cartilage".

Birth indexed as Thomas Jowsey McCormick.

Do you have the birth certificate for his exact date of birth please? It may then be possible to identify him on the 1939 register.

You should "search trees" on here to see if anyone has him on their tree. It's unlikely that someone who knows of him will come across this thread.

I can only find the same possible death as you did Sandra.

There is a tree on Ancestry but it does not have any more information than you have, no death record. It does have his siblings names and deaths.

The 91 census gives his age as 9 months. Census was taken April 5 so his birth would be abt. July 1890.

Also his medical examination by the military on enlistment was done 11 Aug. 1914 and his age was given as 24 years, 38 days making his birth July 1890.

That date of birth on the 1939 register would be just 2 days out from the age of 24 years, 38 days taken Aug. 11, 1914 on his military records. That is if my calculations are correct.

EDIT: Shirley where did your post go? Didn't you say that his DOB on the 1939 Reg. was 2 July 1890?

Sorry I deleted the 1939 record because I realised my iPad had done a predictive text and spelt the surname as McCormack not McCormick
Didn't see it at first and thought it a possible because of the birth date

Didn't want to confuse and thought I had deleted before anyone picked it up
