Good Evening

I have all the family history for my Chuter family already.

Please could someone advise how I would obtain my Dad's death cert as the record on Freebmd does not go up to the year that he died.

My dad was born in Hambledon, Surrey district Aug 1915 and died December 1996 in Guildford, Surrey.

Thank you for your time and I will bounce back to this message after tea in half an hour.

Thank you very much Greyghost.

I am just going through a legal process of obtaining some of my files and have to provide my Dad's death cert.

Most appreciated.

FreeBMD is essentially completely transcribed thru 1963q1
There are B 4+9, M 7+3, D 0+5 incomplete quarters for the 1960s+70s.
There are no completed quarters after M 1981q1.
FreeBMD only intends to transcribe the printed index which ended with 1983q4.

There is a free online transcription of the entire released index at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

The collections of interest are:
England and Wales Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008
England and Wales Death Registration Index 1837-2007
England and Wales Marriage Registration Index, 1837-2005

In spite of the greater extent of records at FS, I much prefer searching at FreeBMD.
