look on the top line of your psot


There is your name at the left, and then in about the middle, you should see

Report Edit Delete


Click on EDIT



the post will open, and you can delete your address.

do please remove your email address from your posting.


It is not recommended to put home addresses on here as GR is an open site, anyone can see it.

Plus, it is considered to be against the terms of GR, and it is not unknown for posts containing email addresses to be reported and removed.

a lovely story, but unfortunately this is an old post, and it is probable that Janet will no longer be on GR.



GR does not notify people that there have been new posts on threads


You should try contacting her by pm (ie, private message) through the internal system


Click on her name

Type your message in the box that appears, and click Submit



GR will then send her a message to the email address that they have on record .............. hopefully she will not have changed it.


Keep an eye on your Sent Messages --- under Messages near the top.

If there is a green envelope to the left of her name, then the message has not been opened.

If there is no message, then the message has been opened.

Hello Janet,
I came across your postings on Genes Reunited a few days ago – my name is Heather. Our son, who is now called Matthew, was your baby who we adopted in March 1984, after his birth on 15th December 1983. He was a beautiful and contented baby, and has had a very happy childhood. He had two sets of Grandparents who loved him dearly, just as if he had been born to us; sadly they are not with us anymore.
I would be glad to send you some photographs and to tell you a little more about him. We have told Matthew what we have found (your 3 postings 2006, 2007 and 2012) and it will take some time for him to think about this information, so unfortunately we cannot promise any immediate contact with him. Matthew has given us his permission though to contact you.
There are lots I would like to ask you, for instance is Fuad Matthews’s birth father? Has Matthew any full brothers, or half-brothers or sisters?
More importantly - I have an email address you could use to send me anything you would like to tell Matthew, if you send me an email following receipt of that letter. At present he does not want to make contact.

my name is janet khalfan maiden name byrne.in the early 80s i was living in carlisle cumbria ,were i had my son 1983 december 15. i named him jonathan michael byrne sadley jonathan was adopted. after a while i moved back to the middle east bahrain.if anyone has any infomation at all please get in touch.janet.
